Holy Mother of Mercy! It’s the 7×7 Link Award!

What a happy coincidence- on the eve of the Oscars, I’m nominated for my first blog award. I’ve been grinning like an idiot all day, jumping up and down and shouting “Hooray for me!”

It’s been fun. But now, I must delve into the nitty-gritty of the 7×7 Link Award.

1. I was nominated for this award by Jen over at The Modern Woman’s Society. As soon as this sentence ends, you need to click that link, because her site is fantastic. Jen covers, more or less, every subject in the blog-o-sphere- photography, recipes, films, and pretty much everything else. Plus, as a twenty one year-old borderline alcoholic, I really appreciate her Drink of the Week page.

She writes with a wonderful, warm and conversational style and I seriously recommend you check our her site.

2. OK, let’s do this random facts thing. Readysetgo.

1. My sandal broke while I was at the Vatican, and I’m convinced the Pope did it.
2. I have seen the film Space Jam approximately eight hundred ka-jillion times.
3. I would pay any (ANY) sum of money to give Bryan Cranston a high-five.
4. One time, I had a dream that was nothing but a single piece of Trix cereal (the grape kind) surrounded by an empty black void of nothingness. It lasted for hours.
5. When I was very young, my dad and I built an ostrich waxing machine together. To this day I still haven’t waxed a single ostrich.
6. In my opinion, ducks are the most delicious animals in the world.
7. I drove a car in high school that was older than I was, and it had this scary-looking red lever next to the parking brake that said “LIFT FOR EMERGENCY EXIT,” and I was too terrified to ever pull it, for fear of being hurled out of the car via some hidden ejector seat. When I went to college, my parents sold the car to a friend of mine and we always planned on pulling that lever at some point… but it just never happened. Eventually the car died, as twenty-two year old station wagons tend to do. The lever was never pulled. A few weeks ago this all came back to me and I finally googled the damn thing- apparently the lever loosened the seat belts a little bit, in case you got in an accident and needed the seat belts to be slightly looser.

That last one’s not actually a fact (more of a long, boring story), but that’s beside the point.
